HAPPY SATURDAY! |
Newly released documents show that Canadian Prime Minister Steven Harper charged the tax payers just over $45,000 to foot the bill for a three day trip last Labour Day with Harper's family and four staffers. The members of Team Canada took in a Yankees game, a Broadway show with the weekend's expenses totalling $11,026 and an additional $34, 633 for the use of a Challenger jet for transportation to and from America's biggest city. So, apparently Mr. Harper covered the expenses but the bill on the jet is still outstanding. Fly with Porter! 100 bucks! Good job, dillweed.

I had to say something about Ridiculously Photogenic Guy. Talk about timing. A 25 year old NYC resident running a marathon in South Carolina has become an internet sensation for smiling into the camera while sweaty unhappy runners surround him. The photo was taken by one of his friends on the sidelines, uploaded to a popular forum then spread like wildfire over facebook, twitter and has been viewed over a million times through photo sharing sites and news stories. All the attention it has garnered has been in a positive light (for once online) and he plans on running a marathon later in the year in NYC for the John Ritter foundation. I'm sure his sponsorship dollars should go up for that one. Oh, here's the photo with a few different captions made by people the internet over for comedic effect.

I have only seen the first Harry Potter and ya, whatever, it's cool or something, but I never felt inclined to watch any of the other ones. Well, Emma Watson. I'm probably a year or two late on this one but Holy crap. Absolutely dynamite, the 21 year old actress looking amazing on the set of her new movie called... well I don't want to say the title because of how stupid it is but here it goes: "The Bling Ring" (for reals). Won't be watching it but I might take a little more interest in some of her future projects. In other Harry Potter news the author J.K. Rowling is taking a stab at grown up books, the first one being released later this year titled 'The Casual Vacancy.'

LIVE FROM NEW YORK
Installed the app for this stupid thing yesterday so if all goes well (had Rogers iPhone issues south of the border) posts from NYC during my quest to obtain a US two dollar bill will be forthcoming. Also, Yankees/Twins game. But the two dollar bill is a priority. Can't wait to get into the 'New York Groove'
